A lot has been going on in my life over the past few months. My mom’s caregiver ran away in early June so I’ve been under extreme stress, My mom’s back at a new nursing home for the time being until I can resolve some major issues in order to bring her back home. I kinda neglected this site. But, I’ve been focusing on life, my mental health, and my work. I was given the opportunity to de-stress myself last June to have a weekend getaway or staycation at one of the most popular 5-star hotels in Ipoh – WEIL HOTEL IPOH.

This will be in 2 parts – this is the 1st part where I will be covering the hotel aspects during my stay at WEIL Hotel Ipoh.

Check out PART 2 where I will cover all the dining experiences during my stay.

Weekend Staycation at WEIL Hotel Ipoh

If you have never been to WEIL HOTEL IPOH before, it’s strategically located in the heart of Ipoh town and it’s connected to Ipoh Parade shopping mall. It’s the only hotel that’s conveniently connected to a mall where your shopping, leisure, and food are just within a few walks away. There are also a lot of restaurants nearby like in Greentown and Ipoh SOHO so you have a lot of options in the surrounding area.

PARKING

Parking is free at the hotel parking. I parked on the 4th floor which requires you to go up to the mall’s parking, then enter a section that is designated for hotel guests. If you’re leaving the hotel, you have to validate your parking ticket at the concierge otherwise you have to pay a parking fee. There are also parking fields outside with a fixed parking fee for a whole day (the one I parked before charged RM3 per entry).

They also have valet parking. This I can’t comment on because I never tried their valet parking haha.

Weekend Staycation at WEIL Hotel Ipoh

My staycation this time at WEIL Hotel Ipoh is for 2 days 1 night on a weekend where I was staying at a Deluxe King room on the 7th floor. Since I could only check in after 3 pm, my friends and I get to enjoy our lunch at YUK SOU HIN, A Chinese restaurant located on the first floor. The food is pork-free and from halal sources but the restaurant itself does not have a halal certificate as it sells alcohol on the premise.

Since the dining part is way too long, I’ve split this post into 2 parts.

Part 2 will cover the dining experiences at WEIL Hotel Ipoh.

Then it was time to check in!

ROOM CHECK-IN – DELUXE KING ROOM

Weekend Staycation at WEIL Hotel Ipoh

I had their deluxe king room which is located on the 7th floor. Do note that the elevators at the lobby will take you to the hotel facilities and rooms but to get to the car park, there’s a different elevator lobby. Also, you need your room key card to go to your floor for security reasons. You can’t go into guest floors without a key card.

Apart from the standard room, they also have concept rooms with 4 different unique room designs. There are also rooms with an indoor jacuzzi! There’s also a concept lounge for those who are staying in the concept room located on the 12th floor. Kinda like a VIP lounge. I had the opportunity to have my breakfast at the concept lounge back in 2019. A nice, small, private lounge if you want quiet time and privacy.

Checking in was fast for me. Normally, you do need to put on a deposit (around RM200 if I’m not mistaken) which will be refunded to you when you check out.

My room is at almost the end of the hallway. Pretty nice floor. Earthy paint and theme make it look lavish and cozy.

And here’s my room.

It’s pretty small compared to the room I had back in 2019 which had more space. However, since I was staying alone, it was just nice.

King-sized bed all to myself. Comfy and cozy!

The window had a small table with chairs with a view of Ipoh City. I actually noticed a few buildings I never knew existed and never noticed before!

The only thing I was kind of confused about was the air conditioning because it wasn’t cold. I set it to 16c and it was just like normal cold. I even slept without comforters on for a couple of hours and didn’t feel freezing or anything. Normally, at that temperature, I’d be shivering.

Basic amenities were available. There was a mini-bar in the room. Snacks, filtered water bottles, coffee, and tea with a kettle were available. Those flavored peanuts were delicious!

Apart from that, other amenities such as iron, robes, slippers, a safe box, hair dryer were all available.

The first thing I was excited about was the rainfall shower and the tub! I had a nice time feeling like I was in heavy rain and then soaking up in the tub with warm water, splashing everywhere like a kid in a Candyland. Haha.

As for toiletries, they have switched to AHAVA brand. Smells like a spa! Everything else is complete – toothbrush, sewing kit, etc. All basic amenities and toiletries including body lotion are available.

For dinner, I had the international breakfast buffet at TIFFIN Restaurant located on the 1st floor. Also will be covered in part 2. The food at Tiffin is HALAL.

THE DECK GASTROBAR & INFINITY POOL

After dinner, my friends and I went up to THE DECK GASTROBAR located on the rooftop to chill for a while. When you’re at WEIL Hotel Ipoh, you HAVE to check out their infinity pool at night and chill at The Deck Gastrobar while having some snacks and drinks overlooking the Ipoh City at night. It’s such a picturesque view!

It’s so nice to chill outside! Infinity pool is closed at night but you can swim in it during the day.

The food at The Deck is very delicious however do note that this is also a bar so it’s definitely not a halal place.

After chilling, I passed out in my room. I was so exhausted!

Woke up early in the morning, soaked up in the tub, and went down for breakfast at TIFFIN for their international breakfast buffet. Breakfast for 2 is complimentary with the room. But, my goodness, I didn’t expect the place to be PACKED. It was so crowded. But the breakfast was delicious.

I had an hour to kill and then it was lunch at TIFFIN again for their international buffet lunch. This time, there were barely any people. It was a quiet lunch for a change which I really enjoyed with my friends. At this point, I was too stuffed from nonstop eating. I was ready to go home.

Check-out time was 2 pm.

Before going back, I decided to check out a shop in the lobby called ‘Maison Berger‘ which sells diffusers for the home. Since I’m obsessed with diffusers right now, I ended up buying 2 to try. The staff was really friendly and we had hours of chatting with each other. After wasting a bit of time at Ipoh Parade, I went back and reached up at night. I felt so dead.

I had an awesome time at WEIL Hotel Ipoh with my friends. It was a very much-needed break after everything that I’d been going through, Unfortunately, the next day I was down with severe sickness (tonsillitis) for 3+ weeks and that’s why this post and a lot of other posts have been delayed.

Thank you WEIL Hotel Ipoh for your hospitality.

Really wish I could go back for another staycation in the future!
