Following the success of its previous campaigns such as Say Cheese, PizzArt, and Anchor Travel Cakes, Anchor Food Professionals returns to debut six new dairy beverages to boost your mood with their Moodmojee campaign.

These beverages were conceptualized and created by Anchor Food Professionals chefs to showcase the delicious possibilities of dairy in beverages, bringing a sip of global trends to Malaysian consumers.

The Moodmojee campaign will see Anchor Food Professionals partnering with fifteen food & beverage customers in both Peninsular and East Malaysia, where these creamy creations will be introduced in phases nationwide starting from November 2018 until January 2019.

Always on the pulse of global trends and a master of innovations, the dairy foodservice leader from New Zealand is consistently exciting its customers by sharing new ideas and ways of doing things. The end goal – to help their food services partners find more performance in their business.

Inspired by Asian cheese teas, Jack Tan, Associate Foodservice Director of Anchor Food Professionals shared, “We understand the versatile role dairy can play in delivering great taste, texture, and appearance in any form whether it’s in beverage or cakes. Dairy is traditionally very popular with Western markets but this time, we wanted to play with local ingredients to give it an overall Asian taste and feel.

He added, “We are always looking at what’s trending around the globe and strive to bring it back home to excite our business partners and ultimately, the taste buds of Malaysia. We have learned that creativity and innovation are as important as taste to consumers these days.

Designed as mood boosters, the range of beverages brings unexpected pairings aimed to delight taste buds. This year’s range promises pairings of zesty, sweet, savory, and salty flavors with creamy and smooth textures. Think of yuzu, pomegranate, mint, chocolate as some of the ingredients that will be paired and brought to life using the natural and fresh goodness of Anchor’s dairy.

The delicious beverages will be available in two outlets in Perak. In Family Confectionery located in Kampar, Lemon Mint Meringue and Kaya-Nika Fusion are sold for RM12.90 and White Chocoffee is available at RM10.90.

In The Baker’s Hut Manjung, Pom Grey Twist and Kaya-Nika Fusion are selling for RM15.90, and White Chocofee is selling for RM14.90.

Did you know that Malaysia is named as one of the ASEAN countries that has the highest prevalence of obesity among children and adolescents with 23.7% of our children and adolescent being obese?

This is why Ayam Brand™, a Malaysian favorite for 126 years is holding a nationwide Healthy KIDS Food Festival to fuel better food choices as part of its annual corporate social responsibility program.

The event was held at STG Oldtown Ipoh.

Ayam Brand invited the children from 4 different children’s homes in Ipoh to join the event – Rumah Anak Yatim dan Warga Miskin Budi Mulia Nurul Huda, Praise Girls, and Boys Home Ipoh, Rumah Anak Yatim Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah, and the Salvation Army Ipoh Children’s Home from Perak.

Mr. Nathan Deverre from Ayam Brand™ gave an overview of what the Ayam Brand Community Care Campaign ‘Healthy KIDS Food Festival’ is all about.

This year’s charity campaign aims to empower children to make their own food choices through engaging and interactive activities that help them identify the main food groups, understand portion size, and make more informed food choices on how nutritious food can positively shape their bodies.

Ayam Brand™ emphasizes the contribution of its products to participating charity homes as many of these homes lack regular access to good sources of nutrients, that are essential for children’s health and growth.

Now in its eleventh year, the Ayam Brand Community Care Campaign has reached approximately 20,000 people from 482 charity organizations, providing them with 1,404,000 healthy and convenient meals!

Explaining the Healthy KIDS Food Festival, Ayam Brand representative Mr. Nathan Deverre said “Children learn better through play. Ayam Brand developed the Healthy KIDS Food Festival with games created for kids to have fun while learning how to make informed food choices.  We hope the kids participating today will practice what they have learned daily and shared these tips with their friends to spread the message of healthy eating.

It’s Somertime, Anytime with Somersby!

Somersby Malaysia held their campaign launch preview party at Glasshouse at Seputeh end of last month and I was lucky to be invited to party along!

I took the train from Ipoh in the morning at 9 am and reached KL Sentral at about 11.40 am. Shortly later, my friend came to pick me up. Spent a couple of hours at her house before we made a move to my first event. After that, we went straight to Glasshouse @ Seputeh.

Somersby is the bestselling cider in Malaysia according to National Key Retailers’ Scanned Data (Jan ’15- Aug ’16). It is a refreshing alcoholic drink made from real fruit juices and natural fruit flavoring. It is sweet and refreshing with no beer after-taste. Somersby Cider contains no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colorings.

Oh yeah, a week before the event, they mailed the invitation and to my surprise, a gift.

Oh, my gosh, how cute is the miniature kombi van?? It is the cutest gift I’ve ever received. I love it so much.

About a week ago, I went to Kuala Lumpur to attend the ‘Raya Kasih & Cinta‘ Buka Puasa CSR Initiative with the main casts of Hero Seorang Cinderella drama, Fattah Amin & Nur Fazura together with the children from Rumah Shifa Setapak and Rumah Bakti NurShaheera. The event was held at Quill City Mall Kuala Lumpur and the ‘buka puasa‘ event was held at the Japanese restaurant, Aragan Yokocho.

I saw Quill City Mall last month when I was heading to Premiera Hotel. I wanted to go there but I didn’t have time. Luckily, I was invited to their ‘Raya Kasih & Cinta‘ CSR event with Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura (from Hero Seorang Cinderella) and a ‘buka puasa‘ event afterward with them, the kids from the orphanage, and other media and invited guests.

Quill City Mall is located adjacent to the Medan Tuanku monorail station so it’s very convenient to get there. From KL Sentral, it takes about 30 minutes.

I’m not a fan of Fattah Amin but Fazura is gorgeous! And this time, both of them were wearing soft pink. Gorgeous to the max.

The Australian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur (AHCKL) is currently organizing a campaign called ‘The Australian Food Trail‘. The campaign runs from May 1st to May 26th, 2017.

Australia’s bountiful, fresh produce and rich ethnic diversity have created one of the most exciting and multicultural cuisines in the world. During the campaign, consumers will be encouraged to discover what the Australian food scene is all about by trying an ‘Australian’ meal at any of the participating venues.

The campaign launch was held at Breakfast Thieves, Bangsar (which is one of the participating venues) with the media/bloggers and their invited guests.

Since I was in Kuala Lumpur on that day, I decided to go for the launch.

Breakfast Thieves is located in Bangsar and easily accessible by the Kelana Jaya Line LRT (Bank Rakyat Bangsar station). The outlet is about 850m from the station or roughly 12 minutes walk.

The place is not big but it’s nice and cozy and has the Australian cafe vibe. It has a nice and relaxing atmosphere to just chill.

There was already a huge crowd in the cafe busy chatting. Since the cafe is quite small, it was very cramped and hard to move around. And since I was alone and didn’t know anyone, I felt very awkward.

#NUNomNomNom is an event at NU Sentral held on April 15th, 2017 in conjunction with the anniversary of their 3rd year operating as the first transumer (transit consumer) lifestyle mall in Malaysia. NU Sentral celebrated their 3rd Year Anniversary by inviting the media and bloggers and treating us to a whole day of food-filled fun. The invited media and bloggers explored the 8-level shopping center while at the same time enjoying delicious food and drinks at participating F&B outlets located in NU Sentral.

For #NUNomNomNom, we were given a ‘passport’ to collect stamps after we dined in at the participating outlets. We were required to post pictures of the food we had on social media. If you want to see what everyone ate on that day, head on over to Instagram and check out the hashtags – #NUNomNomNom, #NUSentral, and #NUTurns3.

This blog post will summarize the F&B outlets I went to and the food I had on that day. If you’d like to read the summary of my whole trip/experience on that day, check out my other post.

Last weekend was my birthday weekend! I didn’t do anything on my birthday, unfortunately. I had the worst time too because my internet connection was down. There was some problem in my area so I was without my internet, phone line, and IPTV for 2 days!

On top of that, there was some miscommunication with my web hosting company. My account was suspended on Saturday when it shouldn’t be, so all of my domains were down. They didn’t respond to my support tickets for almost 3 days! It was until I got so pissed off that they re-enabled my account back on Monday morning. So, if you tried accessing this blog over the weekend but couldn’t, that’s why.

But glad my internet and my domains are all back and working again now.

Last Friday, I made a trip to PJ for the official grand opening of Yoogane Malaysia, a Korean restaurant located in 1 Utama Shopping Center. It’s sort of my pre-birthday getaway also. Unfortunately, I was alone because my friend wasn’t available.

Read until the end to get a promo code for up to a 10% discount at Yoogane Malaysia!

Yoogane, established in 1981, is a restaurant well received in Busan, Korea for its famed Chicken Galbi.

What is Chicken Galbi? Chicken Galbi is a tasty and spicy stir-fried dish consisting of marinated chicken, fresh assorted vegetables, and tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes). Yoogane uses only the freshest ingredients. Their signature dish is marinated using a unique blend of sauces and seasoning and cooked before the eyes of their patrons.

It’s time of the year for us to have a holiday and for the Chinese to be reunited again with their family. Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Hotels and restaurants are rolling out their Chinese New Year dishes and set menus to be served at families reunion dinner. I was invited to review the Chinese New Year set menu at Casuarina@Meru Ipoh

Last year, I reviewed the CNY set from The Haven Ipoh. Click below if you wish to read my review.

READ: Night Sky Gourmet Halal Poon Choi Dinner @ The Haven Ipoh

I noticed there was a problem when I reached the hotel. I was told that there were some people who turned up unexpectedly. Because of that, it was slightly chaotic. There was no space at the table they had prepared, so I sat at a different table and that’s why you won’t see any pictures of the table setting, or during the meal. And also, there wasn’t enough food. There was some food I didn’t get to taste or didn’t have enough of for me to review.

It’s not the hotel’s fault but it’s very unprofessional for some people to just turn up like that. Because I’m just a blogger, I’m always the one that gets pushed back in order to prioritize the media people. This is not the first time this has happened to me and it’s seriously irritating.

It’s a good thing the Casuarina@Meru staff are friendly 🙂

Just a general word of advice, cook extra food. It’s better to have extra leftovers than to have your guest disappointed because there wasn’t enough food.

Now onto the sinfully delicious food!

Introducing some of the delicious, fantastic, halal & MSG-free Chinese New Year set menu that Casuarina@Meru will be offering from January 15th until February 12th, 2017.

End of November, I was invited to witness the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at WEIL Hotel Ipoh then have a Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner at Tiffin.

Last year, I was also invited and reviewed their Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony then had the opportunity to preview Tiffin’s Christmas buffet that I enjoyed so much especially their desserts. I’ve also written other reviews involving WEIL Hotel.

I meant to post this sooner but my computer took too long to be repaired and then I was sick for a couple of weeks. I almost didn’t go to this one because my body was starting to feel weird. I think it was the weather which had been rainy and wet every day for November. A couple of days later I was struck down with fever and some kind of weird stomach virus or something because I couldn’t eat anything for 3 days. It was horrible.

The event started at 6.45pm with an opening speech at the hotel lobby in conjunction with the hotel’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Campaign – Stretch Your Ringgit to Save Lives. Collected funds will be donated to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital’s Paediatric Unit. After the countdown, the Christmas tree plus some other lights lit up followed by a Christmas carol performance.

I love watching live Christmas carolers, especially by kids. It gets you in the mood for Christmas.

I was once again invited to TIFFIN at WEIL Hotel Ipoh to preview their improvised baked seafood buffet dinner which is available every Friday & Saturday from 6pm.

I was excited to be back at TIFFIN because the last time I was there in December 2015 for their Christmas buffet dinner, I still can’t forget their Maple & Mustard Glazed Turkey Toast (it was SO GOOD like omg) and also their sinfully delicious selection of desserts. You can read that blog post and other reviews by clicking the links below:

Before I start, I’d like to mention something. In my previous post, I mentioned that I’m back from my hiatus because I had my computer repaired. Well, it died again today so I need to send it back to the store and get it fixed. I don’t know how long that’ll take so blogging will resume soon once my computer is fixed again.

If you’ve never been to TIFFIN before, the restaurant is located on the ground floor of the WEIL Hotel. It’s quite a big restaurant so plenty of seating is available, especially during the peak holiday season. I was excited to see their seafood selection.
