I wanted to post this sooner but unfortunately, I’ve been down with sickness for more than a week. Vertigo, severe migraine, and allergies. I think it’s the weather. It’s been way too hot and my body just couldn’t handle it.

Earlier, this month, I was invited to sample and review the Christmas & New Year buffet at Concorde Hotel Shah Alam. Yay, Christmas!

Check out my other reviews of Concorde Hotel Shah Alam:

Yep, I went all the way from Ipoh to Concorde Hotel Shah Alam. I needed a break anyway so it was an opportunity to leave my problems for a day. I was very lucky to get a seat on the ETS train. The morning train was fully booked. When I was buying the tickets, there were only 6 seats left. I completely forgot that it was a long weekend. Friday was a public holiday (Maulidur Rasul).

I reached KL Sentral at 10 am, waited for the KTM Komuter which arrived at 10.10 am or so, and reached Shah Alam station at about 10.45 am. Took an Uber and reached Concorde Hotel Shah Alam at about 11 am.

I was happy to see Christmas-themed foods because Christmas is one of my most fave holidays. I wish there were more, though. I wish they had honey-glazed turkey because it is so good. Would be nice to see some gingerbread man cookies too because I really love them. Every year I would buy gingerbread man cookies from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

But don’t worry, though. Gingerbread house will be available during the Christmas Eve buffet dinner.

I was happy to see the Christmas log! And I love the decoration as well. It’s so cute.

Merry Christmas!

I hope it’s not way too late to wish you all who are celebrating, Merry Christmas and to those who aren’t, Happy Holidays! Well, it’s already the 27th here, so I guess Happy New Year would be more appropriate. How fast the time flies, aye? In about 4 days, the year will end and 2016 will begin. So, what’s your new year’s resolution?

I only have one wish, that is for 2016 to be better than 2015. Now that I’m dedicating my full time to writing and blogging, so I hope this blog (and my other blogs) would be active and not abandoned. Anyways, let’s talk about one of my fave times of the year – Christmas! How did yours go?

I usually spend my Christmas eve and the day itself watching Christmas-themed movies. And every year, I gotta have one snack that would complete my movie marathon – Gingerbread Man cookies!

There’s one place I always get my cookies at – The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlets. I looked for it a couple of weeks ago at AEON Kinta City and was disappointed that they didn’t have the cookies. I thought they stopped selling it. They did have a gingerbread house, though.

But last week, I was at Ipoh Parade and decided to check The Coffee Bean there.

Phew, 2 more days till Christmas! About 2 weeks ago, I was graciously invited to witness the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and sample the Christmas buffet preview at Tiffin, WEIL Hotel Ipoh. Earlier on that very same day, I was also invited to another Christmas buffet tasting session at The Haven Resorts. I was a bit bummed out that I couldn’t enjoy both sessions to the fullest because I couldn’t binge on the food too much as I had two buffet previews on the same day, haha.

WEIL Hotel Ipoh is a new (about a year old) hotel with a contemporary setting in the heart of Ipoh town. It’s located next to Ipoh Parade and there’s a linkway that connects the hotel to the shopping mall. It’s amazing how much that area and its surroundings have changed. Growing up in Ipoh, I remember that area to be… well… dead. Now it’s thriving!
