WEIL hotel Ipoh has chosen the theme “Dari Dapur Bondaku” (A taste from mother’s kitchen) for this year’s Ramadhan buffet spread at TIFFIN Restaurant. Diners will be able to enjoy not only the traditional flavorsome Ramadhan dishes but also many authentic flavors from the chef’s mother’s kitchen.

TIFFIN is a certified Halal restaurant. Diners will enjoy a gastronomical adventure featuring favorite dishes such as Nasi Permata, Gulai Rebung dengan Perut, Ikan Patin Gulai Tempoyak, Daging Masak Kuzi, Dalcha Kambing, and many more mouth-watering dishes. TIFFIN will also be featuring an action stall corner where diners will be able to pick dishes from the Satay Counter, Noodle Counter, Sup Tulang Counter, Shawarma Counter, Goreng Counter, and a whole lot more

I started at the salads station and they had a variety of salad dressings as well.

What a beautiful-looking plate of pasta salad.

Nasi Permata.

I normally wouldn’t go for the rice but because this looked so good, I decided to give it a try. I LOVE IT. It’s so flavorful and I love that they added pomegranate in it. I seriously love this rice.

Fried crab.

I looked silly trying to break the claw.

Ayam Panggang Percik.

Rendang Daging.

Sotong Sambal Petai.

A variety of sinfully delicious international and local desserts.

You could never go wrong with a bite of cheesecake.

I was hoping this turned out to be something like creme brulee (without the burnt, caramelized sugar on top) but it turned out to be pudding. It looks pretty, though.

More cheesecakes!

And some chocolate cakes!

The salads/kerabu/veggies table with a variety of sambal.

The live ‘teh tarik’ station where you can see the guy pull the tea. They had 3 choices – normal milk tea, ginger tea, and masala tea.

I was so happy to hear they had masala tea.

The live stations outside feature delicious foods such as satay, soups, shawarma, lamb, and more.

The Goreng-Goreng counter featuring deep-fried foods.

This is the bubur lambuk station. Their bubur lambuk is highly recommended.

The satay.

And the lamb.

The lamb is a must-try!

Fried noodle station.

I normally wouldn’t eat salads but I had no idea why I decided to get some salads. Yum.

I decided to have a little bit of taste for everything. Ahh, they were all so good.

Had a taste of the bubur kacang durian. I’m used to the thick, sweet bubur kacang that my mom always makes so this one tasted a bit light to me. I prefer it thick. It was also less sweet so it’s suitable for those who don’t have a sweet tooth. I prefer it to be a bit sweeter.

The lamb. It’s a must-try. Their sauce is so good. And also tried the shawarma. Delicious!

And of course, the desserts! They didn’t have many international desserts but all those small bites of cakes were absolutely and so sinfully delicious.

Last but not least, ended my meal with cups of hot masala tea.

Masala tea is commonly found in Indian restaurants made with (black) tea and Indian spices/herbs. This is not everyone’s kind of tea. Those who hate spices will definitely not enjoy this tea. I LOVE IT. When I first tasted it, it was weird but soon I began to like it and ended up falling in love. It’s an acquired taste, I’d say.

The masala tea was good, except it’s a bit lighter than the one I had before at an Indian restaurant. I love it so much that I had 3 cups.
